Special message from Mrs. McLamb regarding ACSI events and the Coronavirus

March 12, 2020

Precious Parents,

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High

will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

 This I declare about the Lord:

He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;

he is my God, and I trust him.

 For he will rescue you from every trap

and protect you from deadly disease.

He will cover you with his feathers.

He will shelter you with his wings.

His faithful promises are your armor and protection

Psalm 91:1-4

NTA has been monitoring all of the local, state and federal news concerning the COVID-19 virus. As I stated last week in the Facebook video, I have met with our janitorial staff to ensure that our facilities are cleaned and disinfected daily. NTA is taking all of the necessary precautions to keep our campus safe.  Many of you have emailed or called with concerns about our students traveling to participate in the ACSI competitions.  After much prayer and pondering, the decision was made to cancel any trips out of the city. Shortly after the decision was made by NTA, ACSI issued a statement that all of the competitions scheduled to take place in Raleigh and the Rocky Mount region were being canceled. These include the band competition, spelling bee and art festival. At this time, all of the students participating in the ACSI Math Olympics tomorrow at Village Christian will continue as planned. Early release for grades 9-12 at 12:05 p.m. will remain in place for tomorrow. Athletic events and travel will continue subject to guidance from our state association NCISAA.

I also want to address NTA preparedness in case of a coronavirus outbreak and the possibility of school closure. We are prepared to continue our academic program without disruption utilizing our online resources such as google classroom, aleks math, RenWeb and Ignitia. High school students will continue to progress toward graduation. Student services will remain in operation, sending transcripts and other grade reporting that is necessary for the senior class. The business office will remain in operation using RenWeb and FACTS on-line resources. Re-enrollment and enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year will continue full-steam ahead!

As a school we are praying Psalm 91 over our faculty, staff and school families. Will you do the same? It’s a good time to tell our children about resting in the shadow of the Almighty!

Thank you,
